Tania founded Fithian in 2016. Prior to Fithian, Tania co-managed Davis Advisors’ Global and International Funds for twelve years from inception. Previously, she spent a decade as a senior analyst at Ruane, Cunniff (Sequoia Fund), was an associate editor and investigative reporter at Forbes, and trained as an international lending officer at Bankers Trust. She speaks several languages, received her early education in Europe, earned her BA at Middlebury College, and is committed to supporting the arts. She serves on the board of the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center.

Prior to Fithian, David spent three years identifying and evaluating investment opportunities at Davis Advisors as a member of its twelve-person research team. Previously, he worked in the Mergers & Acquisitions division at Rothschild Investment Bank in London for five years. David received his MBA from Columbia Business School, holds a BSc from The London School of Economics, and served in the Israel Defense Forces.

Prior to Fithian, Derek held senior operating roles at two startups leading product, research, and strategy initiatives as Director of Equity Research at Amenity Analytics and Director of Product Innovation at Accrete. Previously, he was a researcher at The London School of Economics focused on advanced methodologies in political economy. Derek holds a BA from New York University and an MSc and PhD from The London School of Economics. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and Royal Astronomical Society.

Prior to Fithian, Matt was COO at Stamina Capital, a long/short and opportunistic credit hedge fund. Previously, he was a Managing Director at Blackstone Alternative Asset Management, where he was Deputy to the COO and Co-Head of Business & Financial Evaluation. At Blackstone, he managed a fifteen-person team performing operational due diligence on 160+ hedge funds. He holds a BA from Lafayette College and earned his Masters in Accountancy from The University of Virginia.

Prior to Fithian, William was a Vice President at BNY Mellon responsible for developing and maintaining client relationships with registered investment advisers, private banks, and large family offices. Previously, he held roles at Bank of America, Citigroup, Lehman Brothers, and Lazard. William earned his BSBA from Northeastern University, where he majored in accounting and finance. He was awarded the CFA designation in 2008 and holds Series 7 and 66 licenses.

Prior to Fithian, Steve was a Controller at Janel Corporation responsible for the preparation, analysis, and communication of internal and external financials to company stakeholders. Previously, he held roles at KPMG. Steve earned his BS and MS in Accounting from Siena College. He was awarded the New York State CPA designation in 2020 and is a member of the AICPA.
